The town of Langeais is, we believe, one of pleasant surprises of the
Loire Valley. It offers a chateau with a great history (and a
drawbridge) our favourite bridge over the river Loire and a popular
Sunday Market.
Chateau
de Langeais as we see it today was constructed in the 15th
century on the site of the original fortress of which only
part of the keep remains.
The grounds are great for kids young and old
with a great tree-house to explore as well as a
kiddies play park and good views of the bridge
and river Loire.
Sunday is a good day to visit as the town has a
lively morning market.
The town also has a fine church that you should
make a point of visiting when in the town.
