This Loire Valley house (gite) to rent, is in the village of
Barrou, in the department of Indre
et Loire, Loire Valley, France and as the name suggests 'Le Bourg' is located in the
centre
of the village.
Its situation means you have the benefits of experiencing a small French
village but you are also ideally placed to visit all the major attractions
of the Loire Valley plus some of the highlights of the neighbouring
department of 'Vienne'
This Loire valley property, offers accommodation for up to six people.
There is secure off-road parking for two cars in the
courtyard to the front of the house.

Le Bourg is a delightful riverside barn conversion that exudes character and with its double-height beamed lounge and open aspect to the front and rear you cannot help but appreciate its ambiance.
The heart of the house is a spacious, comfortable double height salon offering a great place to unwind and relax. There is satellite ('freeview') television, DVD & CD players and WIFI connection available to you. It has a large fireplace with a wood burnig stove to add that extra ambiance. Books DVD's CD's and board games are provided for your amusement.

generous terrace with different options for dining
and taking in the sun.

Whether it be eating alfresco on the spacious patio, which has views on to the river Creuse, or dining at the grand table in the salon you will enjoy the local wines cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables
of the region.
The main house has a galley kitchen with all you need
for your self-catering holiday, including gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher
and all the crockery and cutlery you will need during your stay.
You will find fresh milk, coffee, tea, bottled water and a bottle of wine on arrival. Further provisions can be provided at an additional cost by prior arrangement.
The house has a separate laundry-room
which is equipped with automatic washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a rotary dryer in the front courtyard for your use.
There is a
double bedroom off the main lounge with
an en-suite bathroom which has bath with
'over-shower'.
There is a door
off the room giving access to the raised terrace at the rear of the property.
There is a second bedroom with a king-sized bed in the front wing of the house with its own private bathroom
which has a bath with
'over-shower'
The 'Little House':
In addition to the main house there is a independent 'little house' in the courtyard offering apartment style accommodation which is available to you when you rent the house for 6 people. When 4 or less people rent the property it can be used with either of the other two bedrooms or just the two mainhouse bedrooms - spoilt for choice. The 'Little House' is
never rented out separately. You have a good sized lounge with small kitchen area with own basic facilities, plus good-sized double bedroom on the first floor. The settee in the lounge is in fact a sofa bed making the accommodation even more flexible.
The lounge/kitchen/diner is set up to allow for some of your party to have their own 'space' with the ability to relax read, listen to music or watch a DVD. You can also pick up the Wifi connection here.

There is a good sized shower room /wc off the lounge.The upstairs bedroom is bright and airy with two single beds
plus an additional sleighbed.

"For anyone thinking of coming with friends or grandparents, family etc. the 'little house' works really well as a 'refuge' *In-laws stayed there and had their own space- worked a treat "
The outside space is great for just relaxing or alfresco dining.

There are a couple of bicycles at the house.
Your hosts, Jim and Pauline live in the village and will be on hand for any additional help or assistance you may need.
