car from central Paris to the Loire Valley
From the Paris
périphérique,
the city's outer ring road, E5/E15/E50 l’Autoroute du Soleil take either the A6A or the A6B, depending on the direction, clockwise or anti-clockwise, that you are approaching, taking the exit (sortie) towards A10/E05 in the direction of Oreleans/Nantes/Bordeaux/Palaiseau.
Depending on your destination the A10 will take you directly to the region's capital Orleans and then on to the major chateaux towns and its cultural centre Tours.
If you are visiting the magnificent cathedral at Chartres then you need to head on to the A11 after leaving the Paris distict on the A10.
