The department of the Eure-et-Loir
is part of the Centre Region of
France. It lies on the route between
Paris and the the Chateaux of the
Loire Valley. It is the ideal stopping-off
point if you are heading for a
holiday in the
Val de Loire
or
if you are looking for
a
convenient destination for a
weekend or short break in the
countryside.
Like the rest of
France you will be surprised at the
diversity of its attractions. For
such a relatively small area it is
rich with scenery, heritage and
recreational opportunities.
From the scenery of the Natural Park
of Perche to the wonderful
architecture of the UNESCO World
Heritage listed cathedral at
Chartres
the departments capital. The area
also has its own chateaux with a
history that connects kings and
mistresses, plus gardens aplenty to
explore.
