Saint Martin's church in the small village La Liege
which sits 17km northeast of
Loches, dates from
around the 12th century.
It has, like most of the churches of the
region, gone through a number of changes
over the centuries. The majority of these
changes took place in the 15th century with
the addition of the choir, apse and bell
tower.
The vaults of the apse and choir required
renovation work during the 18th century

Where's Joan? Our search for her here was
rewarded by this haunting statue which saw
her taking on a facial expression that for
us is unusual and somewhat endearing!
Worth popping in for this alone.
