Southern Touraine in the Loire Valley

The village of Le Grand Pressigny, in the Southern Touraine region of the Loire Valley, with its chateau ruins and prehistoric history museum is not only a destination for Palaeontologists but also the discerning tourist. The village has a charm of its own plus all the practical features of an active community such as a bank, pharmacist, doctor, butcher, baker, grocer, tabac / newsagent, florist, hairdresser and hardware store.

There are three bars in Le Grand Pressigny 'Chez L' the ' Prehisto' to link to the town's history and one in 'Chez Grand Ma' restaurant. 'Chez L; offers pizza and burgers to fill a niche.

Le Grand Pressigny has a very good tourist office in the centre of the village giving information on the delights of the Loire Valley, Touraine and also of its close neighbours in the department of Vienne.

Le Grand Pressigny boasts two good restaurants plus a Bistro/Pizzeria with lunchtime and evening menus to suit most pockets. They all offer opportunities for alfresco dinning on their respective terraces. 'Chez Grand Ma' (pictured below) has inside and outside eating areas and lunchtime and evening menus to suit most pockets.

  

'Chez L' (below) the bistro in the town offers pizzas to take away or enjoy on the premises, They also offer a menu that includes hamburgers specially prepared in-house.

  

Your other option is La Savoie Villars which offers good quality food in very pleasant surroundings.
